This is a perfect example of why I started this website. My mind is all over the place and I need a way to focus my energy constructively. I liken this to the rings of Captain Planet, where the five puny “planeteers” were worthless (especially Heart, let’s not act like he wasn’t a throw-in at some board meeting to promote nonviolent heroes – “hey, let’s get all of the elements of power like fire and wind, but it’ll be nothing without LOVE!”) until they combined to form the superhero himself. I have so many things going on right now that it took me three separate trips to the kitchen to remember to get cookies and milk (the names I want for twins if we are ever so blessed with a buy-one-get-one-free sale on babies in the womb) for my wife.
This actually isn’t even a complaint as much as an observation. In fact, the reasons for lack of focus tonight are mainly based on entertainment: watching sports on my iPad while playing a game on my computer while watching TV with Tina while making coaching phone calls. And the truth is, I love it. I won’t blame technology for being so insanely advanced that I can have all of these things going on at once. And if I had set it up properly, I would have been blogging about this directly from my phone during game pauses rather than take mental notes until now.
The bottom line is, this is me on a free night. My mind races with a million things I want to do but can’t hone in on one. This is why I need an outlet other than talking Tina’s ear off. There is only so much that she can take about my theories on Captain Planet. He’s our hero. Gonna take pollution down to zero.
